Dr. Paul Schubert
Dr. Paul grew up in Haworth, NJ. He studied biology at Villanova University before pursuing his veterinary degree overseas at the prestigious University of Glasgow in Scotland. After graduating in 2011 with honors, he was selected for a highly competitive internship at the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey seeing diverse cases while working with top specialists. His special interests include surgery, internal medicine, and ophthalmology. At home he enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, woodworking, and botany, especially exotic plants such as orchids and cacti.
Dr. Kara Schubert
Dr. Kara grew up in Schenectady, NY and received a degree in biology from Boston University before graduating from the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 with honors. Besides seeing dogs and cats she has many years of additional experience in exotic pet medicine and surgery – everything from small mammals to birds to reptiles! She is also passionate about wildlife medicine and spends some of her time at a local wildlife refuge caring for injured and orphaned animals. In addition to her love of exotics she has special medical interests in pain management, wound therapy, and dermatology. At home she also enjoys vegetable gardening and cooking and is the resident crazy cat lady.
The Schuberts live in Montville with their two children, two Devon Rex cats named Pangur and Hobbes, and menagerie of geckos and frogs. They also have a pitbull named Toby who was rescued as a bait dog from a dog fighting operation and now lives in the lap of luxury.
